This is a unique opportunity to support the delivery of the largest of its kind technology festival, welcoming up to 2,000 attendees. Gain behind-the-scenes experience in how large-scale conferences are organised.

Volunteers are critical to ensuring the event runs smoothly, from managing partners, creating social media content, to supporting attendees throughout the day, there is a role for everyone. In doing so, you will help strengthen the Muslim technology ecosystem and help our community strive for Ihsaan (excellence) in everything we do. Volunteering is an opportunity to serve the community while helping shape the future of Muslim talent in technology.

Volunteer Roles

There are a variety of roles available across Muslim Tech Fest. Each role helps ensure the event runs smoothly and delivers a great experience for attendees, speakers, and partners.

Event Operations

Support the delivery of live sessions and ensure that Muslim Tech Fest runs smoothly behind the scenes. Responsibilities may include stage support, assisting speakers during transitions, supporting session logistics, and helping ensure talks run on time.

Guest Experience

Help create a welcoming and well-organised environment for attendees. This includes supporting the welcome and information desk, providing directions around the venue, assisting with attendee queries, and helping manage crowd flow between sessions.

Partners & Community

Support the experience of speakers, sponsors, and community partners attending the festival. Volunteers in this role may assist with coordinating speakers, supporting sponsor areas, and helping ensure community partners have everything they need throughout the day.

Media & Content

Help capture the energy and highlights of Muslim Tech Fest. This includes taking photos and short videos, capturing key moments during sessions and networking, and helping create content that can be used across Muslim Tech Fest’s platforms throughout the year.

Leadership Roles

Experienced volunteers may be assigned leadership responsibilities, helping coordinate small teams of volunteers within one of the areas above. Team leads support communication, help ensure roles are covered, and act as a point of contact for the organising team.

Volunteer Preparation

All volunteers are required to attend a mandatory site visit prior to the event. Several dates will be available.

The site visit ensures volunteers are familiar with the venue layout, understand their roles, and are fully prepared to support the event effectively on the day. Additionally, we will have a preparation session and a WhatsApp group to ensure volunteers are fully briefed.
